How to crochet a potholder from T-shirt yarn

Crochet Flower

It's a huge 9" across and is made with a 10mm hook and three colours of T-shirt yarn.   The original flower is on the photo to show the size comparison.  I'm thinking another placemat or tea-pot stand... if anyone has another bright idea for these giant flowers, let me know!!! Crochet Flower

Round 1  : Ch 1, 14 dc in ring, join with slip stitch into first dc. (14 dc) Round 2  : Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc, ch 1) in same stitch, * skip 1 dc, (sc, ch 3, sc, ch 1) in next dc ; repeat from * 5 more times, join with slip stitch to first sc. Round 3  : Ch 1, (sc, hdc, 4 dc, hdc, sc ) in each ch-3 space around, join with slip stitch to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends

It was crocheted with a 50% Cotton and 50% Wool yarn.
